Kanpur Metro Project:
Kanpur Metro is the Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) serving metropolitan area of Uttar Pradesh’s largest city, Kanpur. Kanpur Metro started it’s operations on 28th December 2021 from IIT Kanpur to Motijheel. The construction of first stretch of orange line of Kanpur Metro is completed by AFCONS Infra within just one year. Kanpur Metro have two lines, i.e., Orange and Blue. Orange Line is partially opened and Blue Line is under construction. Currently Kanpur Metro is running through 8.98 km of track consisting of 8 stations. The complete system of Kanpur Metro is expected to open by end of 2024. The journey to realization of metro at Kanpur begins by a feasibility study conducted by Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) at 2015.
